So I'll be back in the UK for Chrimbo, anyone know if I'll be able to buy Premiership games by themselves or do you have to pay the monthly subscription as well ? _________________

I find it worrying that they haven't announced any details on pricing to non sky customers. I hope that i'm wrong and that it will be fairly priced.

I did manage to download the SKY player friday . It all looks fantastic . I looked into the pricing . Its £15 a month for the basic entertainment package Then it looks like £9 a month for each premium channel There are offers though Subscribe to sky sports 1 and sky sports 2 and get sky sports 3 and sky sports xtra free for £18 Subscribe to sky movies 1 and sky movies 2 and get movies on demand free which looked really good for £18 a month Also at the moment xbox/sky are doing a deal of 3 months for the price of 2 . REDEEM CODE . XBOX3FOR2 So i thought I would subscribe to everything avalible but not actually buy the package to see how much it would cost. For the basic entertainment package , sky sports package and sky movies package came to £41 . So it looks like there is a savings of £10 if you subscribe to everything . Applying the 3 months for 2 code get you everything at £27.50 for 3 months I also spoke to sky and its a pay monthly service you pay upfront for . No contract as such . Just pay for the months you want to use . Not sure how the 3 for 2 months work . I guess you would have to sign up for 3 months , but im not sure . Hope this answers some questions for you guys . Oh i went to the sky sign up site today and there is no way to sign up t the moment . _________________

I cant get sky (through dish) or cable so this is the alternative For £34 i will be able to watch live sport (sport 1, 2 ,3 and extra) i had to go to the pub to watch in the past, as an example this would cost at least £10 in drinks / food while im there Also if i went to one single match in a month it would cost more than £34, i also watch rugby but being 250 miles plus away from my team i could hardly ever go if i did it would cost £30 in petrol plus the ticket.. I am willing to pay £34 a month for it, im pretty sure there are also many others who will most likely save money paying £34 a month for the sports channels

Signed up yesterday for the 3 for 2 month offer . It comes to £27.33 for 3 months , then its £41 after that . So far im well impressed with it . I have a 3meg download speed on my broadband which seems to cope very well with the sevice . When starting a program it buffers for about 10 seconds and there after it didnt do it again until i changed to another program . I watched a film via the on demand sevice last night (saw 5) and it was pretty much flawless . You can stop the film and resume play on it anytime , even after exiting the sky player or even turning your console off from the point you stopped it . So far everything is going well for me using the sky player . I think the menu system is very good . Also being able to watch something with your friends looks intresting . You being represented by your avatar being able to emote various emotions of happiness and not form your couch in yor virtual room. All in all i would recomend it to anyone at the cost of £27.33 but at £41 seems very costly to me . I suspect my internet speed of 3meg is nearing the minium also . So i guess you should also bear all these thingss in mind _________________

Just listened to the podcast (good episode, although Uncharted is a A+++ game), so had to give it a try. Just downloaded and played around for 30mins, I think the UI is nice and direct, however it does seems to hang or go slow on a regular basis. But hopefully this is just an issue as its early days. The pricing is a joke, I am already a subscriber (sky1, music and kids package). But I can’t use Live TV at all without paying the 10quid a month for multi-room. And even with this I can’t install on more than one machine. The on-demand seemed ok, I was a bit disappointed with the quality ( Not sure if this was because of my connection I have 3.5 mb) Seemed to be a lot worse than normal dvd quality. Maybe worst than BBC Iplayer. Also seemed to lack in content, it doesn’t appear to have all the content that I can get to from my laptop. Verdict, disappointed and not sure if I will use it. But hoping it gets better and Free. With all the new avenues available these days to get TV programmes, I am looking to reduce my monthly outlay not increase. I must also point out that for some time now I have been getting sick of SKy as I just dont think its worth the money, so i have a slight bias from the start. _________________ ENJOY WHAT YOU DO!
