PostSubject: A bit of advice Regarding 2 Xbox 360's in different rooms.   Wed Jul 07, 2010 12:17 pm

Hoping you guys could help me out here.

I currently own an xbox 360 Elite, and I am looking to move this into the main living room, and purchasing one of the new slim models.

Now where do I stand with using my Gamertag on both machines, and playing my Arcade content, and also my saves.

Is it possible to transfer them all by USB stick , or is it really not worth all the hassle.

For instance If I was playing Gears Of War and saved the game downstairs.

Would I be able to continue that game upstairs on the main television, on my other machine?

Hope you understand what I am asking. Very Happy

Thanks in advance.

I used to use a memory card to keep my gamertag & saves for current games for transfer between consoles. It worked flawlessly, well, until one of my 360s died that is. I'd imagine you could do it now with a flash drive since the update? Funnily enough one of my mates just fixed my dead 360 last week & will hopefully be dropping it off on Friday, so I can test it out for you if nobody else has answered by then.

*edit* The arcade stuff will work fine. Just download it onto both consoles & as long as you sign into the new console with your gamertag you should be able to play it without any problems.

Yeah I keep my Gamertag on my memory card and any saves for games I'm currently playing so I can flip between my living room and bedroom 360's I have had problems with arcade titles though I have sonic and puzzle Quest and they'll only work on the original 360 I downloaded it to.

Why do Microsoft have to be so protective.

I know it is to protect against piracy, but still.

I have 3 consoles at home and all I do is move the hard drive from console to console, the only thing that doesnt work is installed games to the drive, apart from that no probs.

Is your 2nd console signed into Live? I've not had any problems with the arcade games I own.

Yeah I swapped hard drive of my old one to the new one and everything else worked fine barring the two arcade titles I bought even deleted and re downloaded. They'll work sometimes if I sign out then into wifes profile then sign out and back into mine which is a pain.

I thought that any arcade game or DLC would only work on the second 360 if it IS signed in with the same profile. Doesn't the new slim have an itnernal hard drive? And no memory unit slots? If so then you've got to use a USB drive.

The game saves will work fine signed in with the corresponding tag on any 360.
